Professor Ioannis Lianos, Professor of Global Competition Law and Public Policy at UCL Laws, participated as a keynote speaker at a conference on 'Digital Platforms and Competition Law: Global Trends and Challenges', organised by the Chinese University of Hong Kong which took place in Hong Kong on 18-19 April. Professor Lianos delivered a public lecture on the "Limits of the Private Governance of (Digital) Ecosystems" in which he explored the limitations of the current legal framework in competition law to address the competition issues raised by business ecosystems and advanced a legal theory of ecosystems that will aim to embed their private governance to the public values of the social contract of the specific jurisdiction. For more information on the conference, visit the CHUK website.

On 26 April, Professor Lianos was a speaker at the EU Competition Day organised by the Belgian Presidency of the European Council which was held in Brussels. Professor Lianos participated in the third panel of the conference on market conditions, available enforcement tools and specific past and future actions in order to maintain/reinforce dynamic competition across the full agro-food sector. For more information on this conference, visit the FPS Economy website.
