He delivered a lecture as part of the Law School’s prestigious Common Law Lecture Series, attended by many judges, practitioners and students. His subject was the UK Supreme Court’s decision on the law of knowing receipt in Byers v Saudi National Bank.

Professor Mitchell then took up a post as a Visiting Scholar at the University of New South Wales Faculty of Law and Justice, where he collaborated with UNSW colleagues in delivering talks to judges of the New South Wales Supreme Court (Equity Division) and members of the New South Wales Bar on equity topics including trustee succession and indemnity.

He also visited the University of Melbourne where he gave the Allen Hope Southey Memorial Lecture for 2024, entitled ‘Knowing Receipt, Equitable Proprietary Rights and Fiduciary Duties’. A video recording of the lecture can be accessed on the Melbourne Law School website.
