27 November 2023
The announcement was made in the 30th anniversary editorial of the journal, which focuses on issues in health and medical law.
SAGE has appointed Dr Isra Black (Associate Professor at UCL Laws) as editor-in-chief of Medical Law International, along with Professor Sarah Devaney, Dr Alexandra Mullock (both University of Manchester) and Dr Elizabeth Chloe Romanis (Durham University). Dr Black is currently Commentaries Editor and will take up the appointment in January 2024.
Medical Law International is an international peer-reviewed journal addressing new and emerging issues in medical law, medical and bioethics, and health governance around the world.
Dr Black commented:
“I am thrilled to have been appointed joint editor-in-chief of Medical Law International. Sarah, Alex, Chloe, and I are extremely grateful to Professor Paula Case, Professor Amel Alghrani, Professor Marie Fox, and Dr Craig Purshouse for their stewardship of the journal and we receive it from them in robust health. Our ambition is for Medical Law International to be the venue of choice for important contributions to health and medical law scholarship, as well as a welcoming space for early career and marginalised scholars.”
