On 2 April, UCL Laws students Nikki Marashi (2nd year LLB) and Mette Gutjahr (2nd year LLB Dual Degree English and German Law) took part in the finals of the CEDR National Student Negotiation Competition, placing 2nd.

A total of 60 teams took part in the competition, with 12 teams advancing to the Finals at CEDR in central London. The Regional Round took place online on 5 March, followed by in-person Finalist Training on 19 March.

There was a total of five different topics (two at regionals, three at finals), covering commercial situations between parties including: disputes over relevant commercial issues; parties looking to go into business together; and parties already in business.

The result shows their continued strong performance in negotiation competitions, as the pair were also the winners of the UCL Hogan Lovells Senior Negotiations Competition. UCL Laws would like to congratulate Nikki and Mette on their fantastic result!
