The House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee’s report on Immersive and addictive technologies quotes Dr Michael Veale, Lecturer in Digital Rights and Regulation at UCL Laws, from his oral evidence given to Parliament on the technical, societal and legal issues surrounding existing and future online business models.

Dr Veale was quoted discussing the financial benefits that platforms distributing apps, such as Google, get from analysing user data and making granular predictions about their future behaviour.
