Following the Queen consenting to suspending British Parliament at the request of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Professor Ronan McCrea (Professor of Constitutional and European Law at UCL Laws) has written an article for the Irish Times on the various possible outcomes of the prorogation of Parliament entitled ‘Queen may be advised to sack Johnson if he loses support of the suspended house’.

Professor McCrea was also featured on RTÉ’s Today with Sean O’Rourke to discuss how unusual prorogation is and whether the Queen could have refused the PM’s request; and has also been quoted on the topic in TheJournal.ie.
