Contracts Working Group Announcement

Dr Alan Brener of the UCL Faculty of Laws has been appointed to the Group, which will advise on bank lending contracts to SMEs
Dr Alan Brener, Deputy Director, UCL Centre for Ethics and Law has recently been appointed to a Parliamentary working group to advise the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fair Business Banking on bank lending contracts to small and medium sized businesses.
Together with UK Finance, the APPG recently announced the formation of the Contracts Working Group, which is co-chaired by Lord Cromwell and Michelle Thomson.
The group will examine participating financial institutions' contracts to ensure they comply with the Lending Standards Board's Standards of Lending Practice, a set of voluntary guidelines for lending practice in the UK.
Members of the group include the CEO of the Lending Standards Board and representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses and UK Finance. Dr Brener is on the group in his role as a member of the Council of the Chartered Banker Institute of Scotland, a banking professional body.
