Professor Rick Rawlings, Professor of Public Law at UCL Faculty of Laws, has been appointed the 2018 Miegunyah Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the University of Melbourne.

The 2018 Miegunyah Distinguished Visiting Fellowship is one of Australia’s most prestigious awards for overseas scholars. The Fellowship will see Professor Rawlings make an extended visit from February to April.

The centrepiece will be Professor Rawlings’ public lecture Brexit: Law, Constitution and Market.

As well as conducting comparative research on territorial constitutional development and governance as part of his ongoing Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship, Professor Rawlings will also be leading seminars and workshops on key contemporary issues in law and public administration.

Professor Rawlings said:

‘The Miegunyah programme is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the academic, intellectual and cultural life of a world-class university. Melbourne is renowned for the quality of its scholarship in comparative public law and I am delighted and honoured to be awarded this Fellowship.’
