Dr Martin Petrin is Richard H. McLaren Visiting Professor at Western Law University

Dr Martin Petrin, Senior Lecturer at UCL Faculty of Laws, was the Richard H. McLaren Visiting Professor in Business Law at Western Law, Canada’s leading law school for business and corporate law.

During his visit, Dr Petrin conducted both research and, as part of an intensive course, introduced students to the law and practice of cross-border corporate transactions.

The course culminated in a negotiation exercise, which saw students negotiate the key terms of a complex share purchase agreement.

Dr Petrin said:

‘I was extremely impressed with the students. The dedication and sophistication that they displayed in preparing and conducting this difficult mock negotiation exercise was outstanding. My time at Western Law was very productive and I enjoyed being part of this special community of high calibre faculty members and students.’
