We’re pleased to announce that admissions are now open for the UCL Laws PhD programme until 24 November 2017. The programme welcomes a small number of students every year to undertake advanced research, and we are keen to hear from applicants with a strong academic record and a commitment to producing original, exciting research.

The Faculty funds a number of generous scholarships to ensure the best candidates are able to study with us in London. We also provide a Personal Research Allowance to cover research expenses such as books and travel, and students can apply for a share of our £20,000 a year PhD Research Impact and Innovation (PRIF) fund which can fund exceptional items, such as presenting conference papers around the world.

UCL Laws was ranked the top Law department in the UK for research environment in the most recent Research Excellence Framework, REF 2014. We have community of world-leading academics, a programme of exceptional events and are based in London, one of the world’s great legal hubs.
