Dr Barnali Choudhury cited in the Report of United Nations Working Group

6 October 2017

Barnali Choudhury

Dr Barnali Choudhury, Senior Lecturer at UCL Faculty of Laws, has been cited in the Report of the United Nations Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises.

The Report, which will be presented to the United Nations General Assembly within about a week’s time, discusses remedies for rights holders who have suffered as a result of corporate actions.  Dr Choudhury’s article “Spinning straw into gold: incorporating the business and human rights agenda into international investment agreements” (2017), is cited in the Report in support of the idea of including remedies for rights holders in the substance of international investment agreements.
