Dr Anna Donovan delivers keynote address at International Legal Technology Association Conference

17 November 2017

Anna Donovan and Joe May

Dr Anna Donovan, Vice Dean (Innovation), Co-director of the Centre for Ethics and Law and Lecturer in Law at UCL Faculty of Laws, together with former LLM student Joe May, delivered a keynote address at ILTAs INSIGHT annual conference in London on 16 November 2017.

Dr Donovan and Joe May gave their address to over 400 delegates, exploring the question of how to better prepare the legal profession for the changes being introduced by technology.

Dr Donovan highlighted the work that UCL Laws was doing to help their students embrace the opportunities that legal technology offered. In particular, she explained how the LawWithoutWalls programme helped both students and mentors approach legal questions in a new and innovative way, designing creative and viable solutions to current challenges.

Joe May then explained how LawWithoutWalls allowed him to establish Ithaca, an NGO helping refugees obtain legal information and which has recently been awarded a place in Allen & Overy’s FUSE innovation space.
