Professor Cheryl Thomas to appear on “Jury Live” at the Cheltenham Science Festival
8 June 2017
Professor Cheryl Thomas, Professor of Judicial Studies at UCL Laws, Director of UCL Jury Project and Co-Director of UCL Judicial Institute, will be appearing at the Cheltenham Science Festival in an event called “Jury Live” on 9 June 2017.
The event will explore the role of scientific evidence and witness testimony in court and its impact on the jury’s decision-making process. Using an example case, the audience will decide whether they believe the defendant to be guilty or innocent, based upon the evidence presented.
Professor Cheryl Thomas alongside Angela Gallop, courtroom and forensic scientist, and Stuart Hamilton, forensic pathologist, will guide the audience through the forensic reports, expert witness statements and the law.
