Watch the progress of the redevelopment of Bentham House

21 October 2016

In October 2014, UCL Faculty of Laws received planning approval and Listed Building Consent for a £18.5m redevelopment project from architects Levitt Bernstein to extend and enhance our historic home

Bentham House

UCL Laws needed to expand to create better quality space for teaching, research and professional services as well as improved common and social areas. Since last August, whilst the project is underway, we moved to Bidborough House, on the UCL Bloomsbury Campus.

The expected completion date is September 2017. In the meantime, watch the project progress with our time-lapse cameras, using footage from December 2015 – October 2016.

Transforming UCL

The redevelopment of Bentham House has been delivered by UCL Estates as part of Transforming UCL, the largest capital programme in the university’s history.

Transforming UCL will see substantial investment of over £1.2 billion over a 10-year period to refurbish and develop some of UCL’s most iconic buildings whilst also bringing forward new world class buildings. Together these will enable and support the University’s continued growth.
