30 August 2016
Professor Richard (Rick) Rawlings, Professor of Public Law at UCL Faculty of Laws, has been made an Honorary Distinguished Professor by Cardiff University
The award, conferred by Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics for five years, follows a nomination made by Professor Richard Wyn Jones on behalf of the Wales Governance Centre and the Cardiff University School of Law and Politics.
Professor Rawlings said:
“The Wales Governance Centre is an essential and innovative centre of expertise and research on politics and law in Wales and the UK. Last year I was delighted to deliver the Centre’s annual St David’s Day lecture. Being appointed Honorary Distinguished Professor further strengthens my relationship with the Centre as I embark on a major study of Wales and the Union with the support of the Leverhulme Trust. I am very pleased to accept this honour.”
Professor Rawlings is a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellow, Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple, Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales, and Life Fellow of the Institute of Welsh Affairs. He was formerly Legal Adviser to the House of Lords Constitution Committee and currently serves on the Welsh Advisory Committee of the Law Commission.
