Laws academics honoured in Student Choice Teaching Awards

Shiva Riahi, Dr Florian Wagner-von Papp, Dr Danai Azaria, Professor Paul Mitchell and Professor Roger O’Keefe of UCL Laws have been all been honoured in the 2016 Student Choice Teaching Awards (STCAs).
Shiva Riahi was nominated in the ‘Outstanding Personal Support’ category which celebrates excellence in academic guidance and pastoral care.
Dr Wagner-von Papp, Dr Azaria, Professor Mitchell and Professor O’Keefe were nominated in the ‘Outstanding Teaching’ category which recognises transformative, high quality teaching. Professor O’Keefe won the Award for Outstanding Teaching, only one of three professors at UCL to receive the honour.
The awards, set up and run by UCL students, and supported by UCL, are now in their fourth year. This year over 350 nominations were received, the largest number ever for these awards. A panel of thirteen students formed the judging panel for the awards, including departmental, faculty, and UCLU representatives.
Prizes will be formally awarded at the UCLU Teaching & Learning Conference on Tuesday 19 April.
