Nahide Basri

Nahide joined the Faculty of Law as a MPhil candidate in September 2022. Her thesis aims to analyse the protection of the rights to privacy and data protection during armed conflict, including in situations of occupation. Nahide’s research is supported by the UCL Graduate Research Scholarship.

 

Nahide holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) specialising in Human Rights Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she was awarded First Class Honours and Distinction respectively, and Hunton Andews Kurth Prize and Morris Finer Memorial Prize in recognition of her results and performance.

Professional experience:

Nahide previously worked in the International Organization for Migration (the Department of Legal Affairs), the International Committee of the Red Cross (the Data Protection Office) and the International Criminal Court (the Office of the Prosecutor, Legal Advisory Section). Alongside her PhD, she is working as an Editorial Assistant for the International Law Reports at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge.
