About the Lecture:
In this lecture Prof. Simpson wants to offer some thoughts on the different conceptions of international law circulating around our present crises and how these understandings of international law might be put into relation with “politics” or “diplomacy”.
About the Speaker:
Gerry Simpson holds a Chair in International Law at LSE. His latest work, The Sentimental Life of International Law: Literature, Language and Longing in World Politics, was published by Oxford University Press in late 2021. He is currently writing a study of the Cold War (with Sundhya Pahuja and Matt Craven) as well as The Atomics, a philosophical memoir.
