Modern slavery in the corporate world

As UCL’s Lawyers Without Borders Student Division, we are committed to advocating for the human rights of all, and researching into the areas in which these are abused. Modern slavery relates to some of the world’s biggest inequalities – sexual exploitation disproportionately affects women; the exploitation of workers harms the poorest and most vulnerable. As so many individuals are in forced labour within supply chains that serve businesses in the Western world, we think that this area is intricately linked to the business interests of all. This area of Human Rights is therefore of concern to all in the capitalist world: those who buy from businesses, work in businesses, and own businesses.

Join us as we explore this important issue of the role of the law in preventing exploitation within corporate supply chains.
