Research conducted by the Department of Security and Crime Science has been referenced in a Parliamentary Briefing note (POSTnote) entitled Big Data, Crime and Security.
Papers by Professors Kate Bowers and Shane Johnson, which look at the analysis of large data sets in relation to predictive policing, have been cited in the section on crime prevention. In addition, the What Works Centre for Crime Reduction has also been acknowledged as having the potential to expand the evidence base on the efficacy of these approaches.
