UK Glial Cell Club
Starting in 1989 we organised a series of one-day meetings at or near UCL on the biology and pathology of glial cells. These meetings attracted scientists from the UK and abroad, and aimed to promote glial cell research. The lectures by the best British and international researchers in the field, together with the poster sessions, provided an excellent opportunity for scientists interested in glial cells and their interaction with neurons to exchange their latest data and ideas. The 6th Meeting of the Glial Cell Club was held on 26 February 2003, and the last meeting organised by the UK Glial Cell Club was the VIIIth European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease held at Imperial College, London in September 2007.
