2024 MA Art Education, Culture and Practice exhibition
The exhibition features work by art teachers, early years educators, socially engaged artists, gallery educators, community workers and college lecturers and marks their mid-way point through their dissertation research.
Amongst this year's practice-based research we have Michael Gove wallpaper for sale, a Filipino sari-sari store, and a printmaking workshop exploring identity, memory and borders in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
During the exhibition on Saturday 11 May from 3-5:30pm you are also welcome to attend Soft Subjects: Material agency in gallery education, a seminar that examines material practices in gallery education at a time when materiality in mainstream arts and media education is increasingly marginal. Reclaiming 'soft subjects' from their demotion in education and celebrating the significance of matter, our invited speakers address the critical role of material in 21st-century learning.
