What’s wrong with socialisation? Lessons from joint reminiscing in the early years
Join this event to hear Daniel Vanello appeal to work on joint reminiscing in the early years to defend the socialisation view against Audun Dahl’s criticism.
Over a number of papers, Audun Dahl has criticised the socialisation view of moral development. According to the socialisation view, children’s moral learning emerges from social interactions with their parents.
Daniel will distinguish Dahl’s view from the socialisation view by articulating his appeal to constructivism in early childhood moral learning, arguing that socialisation can involve the kind of constructivism that Dahl is after.
This in-person event will be particularly useful for those interested in children's moral development, constructivist theories and philosophy of education broadly.
