Modern Language Assistants – supporting language teaching and bringing language learning to life
This free online professional development webinar is aimed at schools that are planning to involve Modern Language Assistants in their language curriculum delivery.

Webinar overview
This online webinar will focus on how to apply for a Modern Language Assistant for your school and explore options to make this financially viable for your school. As the MFLPR2016 highlights: Pupils ‘should have opportunities to interact with native speakers, both in person and through video links.’
The session will include a case study from a head of languages on how Modern Language Assistants have benefitted their language department, their learners and the wider school, good practice ideas on making the most of the Assistant and reflections from an Assistant working in a UK school.
The session will be led by Vicky Gough.
About the course provider
This webinar is run by the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE), delivered by IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society with consortium partners the British Council and the Goethe-Institut. The NCLE is a nationwide hubs programme funded by the UK government Department for Education with up to £14.9 million to re-energise language learning in state-maintained primary and secondary schools in England.
