CST Provision

A similar clinical and psychological approach to CST in Russia is the 'Clinic of Memory'. Access to CST programmes in Russia in the future will be determined by the project 'Preventing Cognitive Deficits in the Elderly', which has been established by the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, in partnership with Tverskoy branch of the Moscow State Budget Institution “Arbat Territorial Center for Social Services. Clients who attend this centre range from 55 - 90 years and approximately 60 people are enrolled every year.

The manual has been translated and culturally adapted for Russian participants.

CST Research Projects

The project 'Preventing Cognitive Deficits in the Elderly' was established in late 2019 at Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE). The aim of this project is to adapt CST for people with dementia in Russia. The overall aim of the project is to develop and use different cognitive and emotional therapy with people with mild forms of dementia. The project objectives are to:

  1. Translate the 'Making a Difference' Manual into Russian
  2. Evaluate the effects of CST on a Russian sample of older adults who reside in nursing homes or who attend social or treatment centres in Moscow.
  3. Train psychologists to deliver CST.
  4. Explore the acceptability of CST for Russian older adults.
