IAS Research Associate Runner Up in UCL Excellence in Health Research Prize

We are very pleased to announce that Dr Kafui Adjaye-Gbewonyo, IAS Research Associate on the Chronic Disease in Sub-Saharan Africa: A critical history of an 'epidemiological transition' project, was awarded the 2nd place prize in the UCL Excellence in Health Research Prize 2019, which is given for recently published original research by UCL postdoctoral researchers.
Her award was for the paper, ‘Income inequality and cardiovascular disease risk factors in a highly unequal country: a fixed-effects analysis from South Africa’ which she and her co-authors published last year.
As part of the prize, she gave a presentation on the paper on 26 March at the UCL Populations & Lifelong Health Domain Symposium where the awards were presented by Professor David Lomas. The 2nd place prize comes with £2,000 to use at UCL in 2019.
