Speculative Worlds Research Collective and ARIEL: UCL’s Centre for Creative Practice Research are excited to host the inaugural Café Spéculatif!
Café Spéculatif is a forum to bring together the community of academics and creative practitioners to discuss new and ongoing projects and navigate possible conundrums over refreshments in a collegial and supportive environment.
The theme for the inaugural Café Spéculatif is: 'Film'.
Café audiences are people who are interested in creative methods, artistic practice in academic research, and other researchers. Anyone can participate; speakers are there to be questioned and talk about their work at all levels. Cafés are informal and accessible.
Cafés start with a short talk (usually no more than twenty minutes) by the speaker, to introduce the topic. After this there is usually a short break to allow glasses to be refilled and conversations to start. This is followed by 30 minutes or so of questions and answers and general discussion. Anyone can ask a question, and we positively welcome those which begin “This might be a stupid question, but …” These questions are invariably not stupid and often rather insightful.
This event is free and open to all, although places are limited. Please register at www.eventbrite.com/e/cafe-speculatif-tickets-779609191077
