After the initial discussions last term around the relaunch of this Centre, we would now like to move ahead with setting up a Steering Group and holding sandpit events.
The aim of the sandpits is for UCL staff and PhD students working in/on Africa to come along to present their research and help build community. This will also help the new Steering Group to identify themes, or at least areas of strength. We will have a series of 3-minute presentations of people's research (no PPT, just talking), with time for discussion and networking.
We envisage a small Steering Group of 4-6 colleagues, who could select one or two of their number to be the lead Coordinators. If you would like to be involved, please email lucy.stagg@ucl.ac.uk by 5th February, briefly stating your field of research and the reasons why you would like to contribute to the Centre.
There are two sandpit sessions.
- Thurs 22 February, 12-2pm, IAS Forum (G17, South Wing)
- Wed 6 March, 12:30-2:30pm, IAS Forum (G17, South Wing)
