OMNISPACE is a six part sci-fi radio sitcom first broadcast on Resonance FM in December 2022. It tells the story of three hapless astronauts and their plucky robot sidekick as they try to explore worlds outside of their solar system. In this event, the show’s creators, Giles Bunch and Richard Grange will perform a comedy scene introducing the motives of the series’ antagonists. This will be followed by a Q & A session held both in-and-out of character, giving attendees the opportunity to find out more about the motives of the show’s characters and writers.
From the start of the writing process to the show’s broadcast years later, the world of space exploration has changed greatly, with commercial space settler advocates increasingly capturing people’s imaginations and attracting justified criticism. The new dramatic scene written for this event will highlight these contemporary concerns and provide background to Giles and Richard’s intentions during their writing process; and, with an in-character Q & A, give some insight into the warped world-view of two, imagined, space billionaires.
