This paper argues that Black life resides still in the time of emancipation. In the paper I argue that Black freedom is “yet to come” and that what freedom might mean for Black peoples is continually violently apprehended when glimpses of Black freedom arise. The paper ultimately grapples with ideas of freedom as not yet known to us.
All welcome. Please note that there may be photography and/or audio recording at some events and that admission is on a first come first served basis. Please follow this FAQ link for more information. All our events are free but you can support the IAS here.
