User Perceptions of Born Digital Authenticity

Interpares Trust logo

This project is being carried out as part of UCL's contribution to the international InterPARES Trust project, considering digital records and data entrusted to the internet.

The project will ask individuals to look at and consider born digital materials, which have already been differentiated through their inclusion in digital 'archives' of one sort or another, in order to gauge how those materials are regarded, particularly in respect of their being authentic and 'the real thing'.

The project will involve Masters' students from within the Department of Information Studies and is also motivated by a desire to encourage students to engage in research and to develop their research skills. It will be carried out over the course of 2016 and is due for completion in November of that year.
