Claire Warwick

Following my appointment as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Durham University, I am now an Honorary Professor at UCL.

Previously I was a Professor of Digital Humanities, and a member of the Department of Information Studies. I also worked as Deputy Director and Head of Training of the London Arts and Humanities Partnership, an AHRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnership; and Graduate Tutor for the UCL Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

From 2009-2013 I was Vice-Dean for Research for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities; and Director then Co-Director of the UCL Centre for Digital Humanities.

My research is concerned with the way that digital resources are used in the humanities and cultural heritage; in the use of social media in these areas; and in reading behaviour in physical and digital spaces. I have led, or collaborated on several digital humanities research projects, for example the INKE project and the QRator project.  My PhD, from Cambridge, was in English Literature.
