Antonis Bikakis
I am an associate professor in the Department of Information Studies at University College London (UCL), where I teach and do research on topics related to Artificial Intelligence. I am also the Departmental Graduate Tutor for research students. I hold a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Crete, a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Professional Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher and Professional Education from the Institute of Education (University of London).

My main research interests are in the areas of Knowledge Representation, Nonmonotonic Reasoning, Argumentation, Semantic Web and Ambient Intelligence. My current activities concern the study of logic-based methods for argumentation and persuasion, and the development of knowledge-based systems for the Web, Cultural Heritage and other application domains. I am a co-director of the DIS Knowledge, Information and Data Science research group and a member of the London Applied Logic Group.

Before joining UCL, I worked as a research fellow at the Individual and Collective Reasoning team (ICR) within the Computer Science and Communications (CSC) research unit of the University of Luxembourg. I have also worked as a research assistant at the Information Systems Lab of the Institute of Computer Science of FO.R.T.H. in Greece. Since 2006, I have been a member of the Hellenic Association for Artificial Intelligence. I have participated in the organising/programme committees of several international AI conferences.
