Pears Building contractor appointed

Construction company Willmott Dixon have been awarded the contract to build the Pears Building, which will become the home of the Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT).

It is anticipated that the £61million project will be completed in September 2020 and offer unique opportunities to further enhance our research strengths.

The IIT will be one of five leading centres of its kind across the globe, bringing scientists and clinicians together to research revolutionary new treatments.

The unique co-location of NHS care and university research means that patients, nurses, clinicians and scientists can easily work together to accelerate the development of new therapies for patients.
