2 people talking

HR and L&D professional development pilot programmes for staff will start in July 2023. We have now appointed BePro Development as our training provider to deliver the full range of HR and L&D programmes

What is it?

We will be offering the following programmes:

  • HR Support – Level 3
  • HR Consultant Partner – Level 5
  • L&D Practitioner – Level 3
  • L&D Consultant Business Partner – Level 5
  • Senior People Professional – Level 7 ( L&D/ OD Pathway or HR Pathway)

These Professional Development Programmes will be funded through the UCL Apprenticeship Levy, and will provide structured training, allowing you to enhance your career prospects through the development of valuable skills and earn a nationally recognised qualification.

More general information can be found at UCL Apprenticeships for existing staff (mid-career).

Who is it for?

The programmes are designed for those who work in an HR or L&D specific role who wish to deepen their HR or L&D expertise, apply new knowledge skills and behaviours within their current role and contribute to the organisation’s success through the development of its workforce. There are opportunities to follow specialist pathways including Organisational Development and Learning and Development. Some programmes are also designed for managers and leaders who wish to develop their strategic HR expertise.

These opportunities will be open to staff who have successfully completed their probationary period and are on a permanent contract. It is essential that line-manager approval and commitment is confirmed during the application process, as approximately 20% of time will be spent in ‘off the job’ training.

Some programmes have specific essential eligibility criteria and requirements and those with previous related qualifications will need to check eligibility before making an application.

How do I apply?

Detailed information for applicants and line managers along with the Expression of Interest form is available here:

UCL HR and LD Professional Development Programmes Guide.docx

You and your line manager must read this in full before making an application as it provides useful information.

Expressions of interest for this programme are now open. You must discuss this with your line manager before making an application.

The deadline to submit expressions of interest including line managers approval is the 31 May 2023.
