Alumni Network

UCL Geography has an active alumni network, including more than 3,000 former undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Reunions of past years, going back to the 1960s, are regularly held in College, or in suitably convivial venues nearby.

These usually revive the friendships made at UCL, often begun during field classes from the first undergraduate year onwards. In some cases, the venues of such classes have even been the sites of nostalgic residential reunions, including in Swanage and the Forest of Dean.

We are always happy to arrange visits to UCL by groups wishing to catch up with what has been happening in the department since they left.

The initiative for all such events usually comes from former students themselves, but the department and the UCL Alumni Relations team can help in making contacts and arranging events in College.

Career evenings

Every year, we hold early evening careers events for current students, when former students are invited to pass on their experience of post-graduation training and employment across the wide variety of opportunities available to geography graduates.

These include work in the private, public or voluntary sectors, including geography teaching, in postgraduate human or environmental training, whether in the UK or internationally.

If you would like to be involved, please let us know.

If you are a UCL Geography alumnus we would like to stay in contact with you. You can keep in touch by:

Donations

Help today’s UCL Geographers!

In the current environment of substantial student fees and costs, including for field courses and dissertation fieldwork, the department has launched a UCL Geography Student Fieldwork Fund to ease the difficulties many nowadays face.

The Student Fieldwork Fund will contribute to the quality of today’s UCL Geography student experience by supporting the costs of field courses and fieldwork for those experiencing financial hardship.

There are lots of different ways to give, including several which will make your gift tax-efficient. Further details of these can be found on the UCL website.
