Research Title
Migration and remittances- A study of remittances from Nigerian migrants in London
More about Ngozi
After my Master’s degree, I took a break from academia to raise a family and pursue a career in programme management. As an activist for promoting UK investments to facilitate economic development in Africa, I was interested in the role remittances play in the Migrant’s economic landscape and therefore chose to pursue further research into remittances.
I am specifically interested in the mechanisms that make remittances to Africa happen – who controls it and how Nigerian migrants engage with the channels available to send money back home.
Research Interests
Remittances are transfers of money from residents of one country to residents of another country. I aim to analyse the remittance landscape by using data from Nigerians and Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) in London as a case study.
