Professor Philip Lewis and Dr Qingling Wu present work at COP26

This session, on Wednesday 3 November, was chaired by Professor Gideon Henderson, the Chief Scientific Advisor of Defra.

Professor Lewis introduced the methodological approach of Earth Observation-based crop monitoring techniques along with two UK examples.

Dr Wu showcased two international collaborations in China and Ghana.

Professor Lewis said: "Earth Observation has a really important part to play in food security, forming part of crop early warning systems and allowing yield predictions.

"It was great to be part of the COP26 Earth Information Day and showcase some of our work in this area with colleagues around the world.”
