Religion and Social Justice for Refugees

8 April 2020

New report launched by Refugee Hosts team

Religion and Social Justice for Refugees

The Refugee Hosts project, based in the UCL Geography Migration Research Unit and led by Professor Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh, has published a new report, Religion and Social Justice for Refugees: Insights from Cameroon, Greece, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia and Mexico.

The report identifies and examines the important roles played by faith in supporting social justice for refugees. It draws on over 300 in-depth interviews with refugees, members of local host communities and locally based organisations in towns, cities and camps in the six countries.

You can read more about the report, and access a digital copy, on the Refugee Hosts website.

Elena has also addressed how and why the COVID-19 pandemic compounds the vulnerabilities of millions of people whose lives and wellbeing have been shattered by protracted conflict and displacement, in : Refugee-led Local Responses in the Time of COVID-19: Preliminary reflections from North Lebanon.
