Top 10 in world and Top 5 in UK

While Professor David Price, UCL Vice-Provost (Research) reminds us that university league tables must always be regarded with a healthy degree of scepticism, UCL Geography’s research and teaching have consistently been ranked among the best, in both international and national comparisons.

Internationally, the latest 2018 QS World University rankings include UCL Geography among the 12 UCL departments that are in the world's top 10 for their subject, with a particularly strong research impact.

At the same time, the 2018 UK Complete University Guide ranks UCL Geography among the Top 5 departments in the UK, having improved 3 places since 2017.

This rise particularly reflects improving student satisfaction, with the job prospects of its graduates ranked as the best for any geography department in the country.
