Geodemographic applications of Big Data

Two new PhDs have recently been awarded to members of the UCL Geography Geospatial Analysis and Computing Group.

Dr Alistair Leak attended the graduation ceremony at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall on 13 March, following the successful completion of his study last year, Applications of New Forms of Data to Demographics.

Not far behind, on 26th February, Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) researcher, Guy Lansley, successfully defended his doctoral thesis on Big Data: Geodemographics and Representation.

Alistair is now a postdoctoral researcher in the UCL Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, working on an Economic and Social Research Council project with Transport for West Midlands.
