Richard meets ministers at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

Education in Botswana

On the evening of April 20th, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, the President of Botswana, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, and some of his cabinet Ministers met Botswana working and studying in the UK at the Botswana Embassy.

Among them was Richard Mazebedi, a PhD researcher in UCL Geography, on study leave from his teaching job at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST). He is working on the sustainable management of the famous Okavango Delta wetlands in Botswana.

Richard took advantage of the opportunity to discuss with various ministers the challenges faced by the mainstream education system in Botswana.
