Luis Buñuel: a Life in Letters, edited by Jo Evans and Breixo Viejo

Professor Jo Evans has been directing a three-year Leverhulme Trust-funded research project, Luis Buñuel: a Life in Letters, with Senior Research Assistant, Dr Breixo Viejo (SELCS; Barnard College, New York). Research into public and private archives in the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico and the US produced a collection of over 1000 letters from, and to, Buñuel, now published by Cátedra. Widely reviewed in Spanish press and advertised on Spanish TV's La aventura del saber, this annotated edition was hailed by Spain's top film journal, Caimán: Cuadernos de cine, as the 'acontecimiento editorial del año' [the publishing event of the year]. An abbreviated English-language version will be published by Bloomsbury in 2019.
