The SELCS Brazilian Translation Club is a series of workshops in which students, translators, and enthusiasts of Brazilian literature meet to discuss the translation of a selected contemporary Brazilian short story. This new series of workshops focuses solely on contemporary Afro-Brazilian short fiction and is sponsored by UCL Global Engagement. It is a partnership between Ana Cláudia Suriani da Silva (School of European Languages, Culture and Society, University College London), Maria Aparecida Andrade Salgueiro (Escritório Modelo de Tradução Ana Cristina César, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) and Julio Ludemir (Festa Literária das Periferias).
These are the dates for the March and April workshops:

15 April – Cuti
29 April – Ana Paula Lisboa
The workshops are held online via Zoom (18h30 GMT). Registration for each workshop is via Eventbrite.
