Restorative Dental Practice - module information

Year One

The Scientific Basis of Restorative Dentistry I
30 credits
Teaching consists of lectures, seminars, literature reviews and practical hands-on. Assessed through reflective portfolios, individual clinical case presentations, coursework and written examinations. 

The Scientific Basis of Restorative Dentistry II
30 credits
Teaching consists of lectures, seminars, literature reviews and practical hands-on. Assessed through reflective portfolios, individual clinical case presentations, coursework and written examinations. 


Year Two

Advanced Clinical Restorative Dentistry I
30 credits
Teaching consists of lectures, seminars, literature reviews and practical hands-on. The Diploma builds on the skills acquired in the certificate year by introducing more specialised and/or comprehensive procedures. 
Assessed through reflective portfolios, written examinations and the documentation of individual clinical cases. 

Advanced Clinical Restorative Dentistry II
30 credits 
Teaching consists of lectures, seminars, literature reviews and practical hands-on. The Diploma builds on the skills acquired in the certificate year by introducing more specialised and/or comprehensive procedures. 
Assessed through reflective portfolios, written examinations and the documentation of comprehensive clinical cases.


Year Three

Master’s Dissertation and Research Project
60 credits 
Students learn about clinical research techniques in order to apply the fundamentals of statistical data collection and analysis, qualitative data collection and analysis to their research dissertation. 
Assessed through a dissertation (10,000-12,000 words) and an oral examination.
