The International Medieval Congress (IMC) is an annual event with an attendance of over 2,000 medievalists from all over the world. It is the largest conference of its kind in Europe.
This year's conference features a session by Early Medieval Atlas members entitled 'Productive Ground: Place-Names and the Landscapes of Food Provision' comprising three papers:
- The Seasoned Traveller: Place-Name Evidence for Medieval Salt Transport, Eleanor Rye
- Field-Names, Food, and Farming Practices in Medieval Nottinghamshire, Rebecca Gregory
- A Balanced Diet?: Evidence for Hunting, Gathering, and Farming in Shropshire Place-Names, John Baker
