Women of Influence: Community Participation and Leadership in Amazonian Peru

Join us for the first UK screening and discussion of five short films from the WOMEN OF INFLUENCE project and meet the team!

Join us as we screen the documentaries created as part of our Women of Influence project, which focus on themes including the importance of ancestral knowledge, culture and language, threats to food and water security and environmental crisis, all in the content of leadership and community participation by young women in the Junin area of Amazonian Peru.

The event will include a live Q&A with Peruvian academic and activist partners.

This event forms part of a project funded by the British Academy (GCRF scheme) and is hosted by the project team from University of East Anglia (UEA), Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and the Organisation for Indigenous Women of the Central Selva of Peru (OMIAASEC).

This event is free to attend.

Doors will open at 16:30.
Event starts at 17:00 and ends at approx 19:00 with drinks reception until 19:45.

This documentary does not have an age certification and is considered by the event organisers to not require trigger warnings.
