Mummified Everything and Make Your Own Cartouche

Workshop
 |
18th Jul 2023
UCL Main Building, Wilkins Upper Terrace

Two young boys in red and blue T-shirts work side by side at a crafting table using paper, pens and scissors

30-minute session starting at 15:00, 15:45 or 16:30

With the Petrie Museum currently shut for improvement works, we are hosting a free Egyptology activity at the UCL Main Building (Wilkins Upper Terrace) so you don't have to wait until the museum re-opens.

Mummified Everything

Bring along something that represents a treasured item and turn it into a mummy, learning about how and why ancient Egyptians performed mummification.

We will also have materials on hand if you aren't able to bring along something.

Make Your Own Cartouche

Use printmaking to explore hieroglyphics and design your very own throne name (cartouche), learning about the ba and ka.

More info

Attendees will get to take part in both workshops within a 30-minute session, with three time slots to choose from. Our staff will help and guide you throughout, and you will get to leave with your very own unique mummy and cartouche creations.
