The Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology invites you to join an exciting family workshop discovering the early 20th century excavations of the Tarkhan Tombs.

With over 2,000 tombs, Tarkhan is one of the most important cemeteries from the time of state formation (about 3000 BC) in Egypt. In this collaborate tabletop activity, explore the archaeological excavation that took place between 1911 and 1913. Understand what objects were found, where they were found and what this taught us about ancient civilizations.

This workshop is part of UCL Museums & Cultural Programmes 2023-24 event series Architecting Futures from Past Traces, bringing together art, culture and research.
