 |
17th Jun 2023  -  29th Jul 2023
Free

This event will be held in the UCL North West Wing Building (Room G17), Gower Street, WC1E 6BT, not the Grant Museum.

A young woman with dark hair wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans sits smiling at a table covered with craft materials. Behind her is a wall decorated with postcards and other colourful paper items.

Saturday 17 June & Saturday 29 July 2023, 11:00-14:00

The Grant Museum of Zoology team invite you to imagine a future where animals have returned to their natural habitats – or have found new homes.

Responding to the Grant Museum's collection, you will randomly select a name and description for your animal, before bringing your creature to life through drawing and collage. Afterwards you will get to see it in its chosen habitat using green screen technology.

Finding us

The Grant Museum of Zoology is currently closed and these workshops will be held in the UCL North West Wing Building (Room G17), Gower Street, WC1E 6BT - not the Museum. The venue is located on the ground floor, has step-free access and is near to both gender-neutral and gendered toilets. Spending the day out in London? We are located in Bloomsbury, in the heart of central London. The nearest tube stations are Euston Square (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith & City), Goodge Street (Northern Line), Warren Street (Victoria Line), and buses 18, 30, 73, 134 and 205 stop one minute away on the Euston Road.

About the artist

Lucia Vinti works primarily by hand using pencil, paint and collage. Lucia creates playful and energetic illustrations that add a sense of personality and joyfulness to a wide range of projects, from children's books to editorial, publishing, commissions, and regular creative workshops for adults and children. Lucia studied illustration at the University of Brighton and loves riding at the front of double decker buses, finding ancient artefacts with funny faces in museums and drawing in her sketchbook in sunny cities. She hopes that her work can encourage people to see the world in new and exciting ways.
